CARO Board Members



CARO was developed by a number of individuals from various Reiki organisations wishing to support a high level of standards within the Australian Reiki Community.

Many of the board positions rotate so please check back for updates.

The board members and their current positions are:

Chair
Sue Lake-Harris

Sue Lake-Harris is a professional educator, facilitator and course designer, with over 20 years experience in education. She's also a professional Reiki practitioner with over 10 years experience in running small business.
Sue's Tertiary Qualifications are a Diploma of Teaching, Bachelor of Education and Post-graduate Studies are a Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment, Counselling and Feedback, Management, 5 yr teacher training apprenticeship within the Usui Reiki Network
Sue's passion for education and Reiki has resulted in her being the Usui Reiki Network's Education Officer for the last 6 years which has meant meeting with many Reiki people in Asia and the UK, as well as Australia. She was also elected by the Board of CARO to be its first Chair - a great honour.
Sue believes it is entirely possible for the Usui System of Reiki to be successfully self-regulated AND credible to the wider community as a standalone, effective treatment modality.


Membership Officer
John Coleman

John is a Reiki Master/Teacher and has been the President of the Australian Reiki Connection (ARC Inc) since 2004. John was previously a successful businessman in the building industry in Ireland providing him with multiple skills that include mediation experience, openness and honesty in all of his dealings, combined with a good sense of humour. John currently works in the palliative care service with Reiki.
John’s vision is to have Reiki integrated into mainstream healthcare and the establishment and maintenance of
Australia wide, agreed minimum standards for the provision of Reiki treatments by professional practitioners. John truly believes, that only by Reiki organizations working together, co-operating, and speaking with a united voice, can the Reiki community be truly represented and Reiki advocated for.

Information Services
Bronwen Stiene

Bronwen has been a Reiki Teacher since 1998 and her personal interest is in the Japanese aspects of the system of Reiki. With her husband, Frans, she has co-founded the International House of Reiki, created The Reiki Show Podcasts and authored The Reiki Sourcebook, The Japanese Art of Reiki, Reiki Techniques Card Deck, A-Z of Reiki Pocketbook & Your Reiki Treatment. Together they travel internationally, teaching and talking to Reiki people about the system of Reiki. Bronwen is currently Vice-President of the Australian Reiki Connection (ARC Inc.).
Bronwen's Post-Graduate studies include TEFLA (Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Adults) and a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment and a Certificate IV in Small Business Management.
Bronwen’s vision is to see a more universal education of the general public and Reiki community into factual Reiki knowledge and research as well the provision of more support to Reiki practitioners and the general public via the development of a self-regulatory structure within the system of Reiki in Australia.
